Humanitarian Program
When we receive requests for help from a CAP caseworker on behalf of people in vulnerable situations, our organization may be able to assist. The individuals must be staying in the facility that contacts us. In such cases, different forms of support are possible.
If the animal has a health issue, we may offer a veterinary consultation. Both the owner and a member of our team must be present to discuss the care plan and treatments with the veterinarian. Unfortunately, if the animal has long-term medical needs, we won’t be able to cover the ongoing costs.
Our organization often receives food donations from pet stores and veterinary clinics. We now give the surplus to the CAP. This program also aims to organize special on-site events such as free microchipping, nail trimming, canine behavior advice, and more.

Since 1991, CAP St-Barnabé has been active in the east end of Montreal. The organization offers a range of services: emergency shelters for people and their animals, a day center, psychosocial support, meals, and a social housing program.
Their mission: to use their expertise to serve the most vulnerable individuals, helping them achieve greater autonomy and stable housing.
Our collaboration: we provide support to CAP users and caseworkers by offering veterinary care, advice, and food for the animals in CAP’s facilities.
