Accepted pets
Mission Mayday only accepts dogs and cats in need of medical care to ensure a good quality of life in the future. Any animal or litter in good health will automatically be refused, as we are not a regular shelter. Our protégés are placed with foster families.
Eligible requests
The organization only accepts foster requests from clinics, shelters and SPCAs, as well as for stray cats. Pet owners must ask their veterinarian to fill out our form so that we can assess whether we are able to take in your pet.
Financial support
If you wish to keep your pet and are looking for help in raising funds, this is not our mission, as we already fund raise on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of our own animals. What's more, our in-clinic discounts are only valid for animals that belong to us. Visit our blog for tips on finding the funds to pay for your bills.
Entrusting an animal
Following a transfer of ownership, it will be impossible for you to reclaim the animal since it will have been legally transferred to us. Former families will not be able to visit the animal in hospital or in its foster home. They can, however, follow our social networks to stay informed of the animal's progress.
Why don't we accept requests from private individuals?
We need a recent veterinary assessment to have an idea of the cost of care and to properly assess your pet's needs. Our organization is also the victim of the rising cost of living, so we need a diagnosis to know if we can raise the resources to give your pet a chance.
