About me
Hi, it’s me, your friend Pringles! I’m now looking for my forever family to go on new adventures with! I’m just about a year old, and I'm a large mixed-breed dog. I adapt well to different types of homes, so I’m not too picky about that.
In general, I’m a dog who needs lots of movement and freedom. I love to play and enjoy the outdoors, so I’d like a family who will include me in their activities and take the time to have fun with me. I’m also able to keep myself busy for long periods if you give me plenty of toys—that makes me so happy! My foster family says I’m a very easygoing and well-behaved dog. I listen well and love cuddling with my humans. The good news is that I don’t bark much—I’m pretty relaxed.
I’m very sociable with people and currently live with young children. I’ve also been tested with dogs and cats, and things went well. However, my energy can sometimes bother other dogs since I love to play a lot. I also get really excited when visitors come over and show my joy by jumping on them—I’ll need a bit of help with that! I may not be the most delicate around children under 5, but I think I’d still be gentle with them.
I adjust very well to new situations, but I struggle with being left alone. With all the recent changes, I’ve developed some separation anxiety. I cannot be left in a crate because I panic—that’s how I injured myself before. When left alone, I sometimes get into mischief, like emptying the recycling bin. But when I’m surrounded by love and attention, I’m a wonderful companion and feel happy and secure!
Having another dog around might help me cope better with my humans’ absence, but I can’t promise for sure. The good news is that I’m being supported by a canine behaviour specialist who will help my future family work on my separation anxiety. At first, I’ll need you to stay with me as much as possible to reassure me and build a strong bond of trust.
Cats
I could live with a cat that’s used to large dogs.
Dogs
What I’d love most is to have another dog as a companion in my new home.
Other pets
I haven’t been tested with small animals yet, so that would need to be discussed.
Kids
I believe that living in an environment without young children would be ideal.
