Mission Paws United

Help us open Mayday’s very first headquarters — a place to heal, help, and love. We believe it's time to move forward with a special project that will ultimately save more lives.

Our goal:
To improve our resources and support low-income families in caring for their pets while enhancing the management of our ever-growing organization!

For a better future

Having a location in Ahuntsic (Montreal) will allow us to implement new programs for our animals and low-income pet owners:

How to support this project?

  • No, our facility will not be a shelter. Our animals will continue to receive care from our foster families and volunteers, as a home environment remains the ideal setting for them. Operating a shelter would require a much larger facility and would incur very high costs for development and compliance with current regulations.

  • There are many combined factors that will allow us to grow:

    • Efficient equipment management (which will reduce spending on new products and accessories)

    • In-person product sales

    • Primary evaluation and basic animal care: microchipping, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, etc.

    • Events: adoption days, fundraising events, in-person meetings

    • Encouraging in-person volunteer participation

    • Easier management of the online store and inventory, with the possibility of selling new items

    • Ability to accept more food and accessory donations

  • Since our facility is not a veterinary clinic, we only offer basic care (such as nail trimming, microchipping, and ear cleaning) during special events. We are not open to the general public at all times.

  • We provide support to low-income Montreal families, our adopters, and individuals referred by the SPCA de Montréal and Chiots Nordiques. Our goal is to reduce abandonments, adoption returns, and behavioral euthanasia by giving the public the opportunity to get involved in helping these dogs and their families. We specifically assist individuals whose dogs have been reported to the city following bite incidents.

  • We provide medical care to users of the shelters (for people experiencing homelessness) at CAP Saint-Barnabé (Hochelaga, Montreal). We support them in caring for their animals despite often difficult living conditions.

We also provide food and accessories for the dogs and cats living in these facilities with their owners. With our new facility, we hope to expand this assistance to Montrealers who are having difficulty feeding their companions.

4 ways to get involved

About Mission Mayday

Mission Mayday is a non-profit organization that was founded in January 2022 to prevent euthanasia for animals suffering from abuse and requiring medical care.

We do not hesitate to spend large amounts of money to save dogs and cats without families. The majority of our passengers come from seizures by the authorities, animal services, shelters, and surrenders in veterinary clinics.

A wind of change

Every year, we spend a significant amount on medical care, food, animal boarding, various accessories, and transportation.

Distributing resources and managing food and material donations is complicated because we have foster homes all across Greater Montreal. It's time for a change!

Thank you for your support!

In the face of rising care and living costs, we believe that people who love their pets deserve help to be able to keep them and take care of their mental and/or physical health.
