About me
Hi there, my name is Golf, a young male cat looking for my forever family! Ideally, I’d love to live in a home where there are already other feline friends, because I really enjoy their company.
I’m a rather timid little cat, especially around strangers. I’ll need a patient family who will take the time to help me come out of my shell and work with me at my own pace. Around humans, I tend to freeze or go hide. To help manage my anxiety, I take gabapentin, which helps me a lot.
The good news is that I’m already making progress! With treats, I’ll let people pet me and I’m slowly learning that humans can be kind. I’m also very food-motivated and need stimulation to really thrive.
With other cats, I’m completely in my element: I love playing with them and snuggling up close. It’s actually my favourite activity! The toy I like best is my little mouse. I’m litter-trained, and with time, patience, and lots of love, I’ll become a wonderful companion.
Please note that I have a mild heart condition, but it doesn’t prevent me from living a normal life and I’m doing very well. I do have a heart murmur that has already been investigated, and the good news is that I don’t need medication and it’s nothing alarming! The volunteers who will do the follow-up calls will be able to tell you more about the diagnosis.
So, are you ready to give a former stray a chance—one who’s already starting to get used to the safety of a home?
Cats
I would really like to have at least one feline friend in the home to help me adapt.
Dogs
I haven’t been tested with dogs, so I would prefer to avoid living with them.
Other pets
With proper supervision, a home with small animals could work.
Kids
I’m looking for a home without young children, as they can be a bit too rough for me.
