About me
Hi there, my name is Hercule! I’m looking for a family willing to give me a chance through a compassionate adoption. I’m a calm, gentle dog who’s pretty easygoing. I enjoy going for walks, but I’m also what you might call a real “couch potato.” Yes, I really love my comfort!
That said, don’t get the wrong idea—I also know how to get a little messy and enjoy the outdoors. I love chasing squirrels in the woods (I do have a bit of a predator side!) and taking the time to sniff all the smells along the way. Walking on leash will need some work because I tend to pull quite a bit. A rural or suburban environment with fewer triggers would suit me better than the city so I can make progress with this.
My favourite activity? Car rides! There’s nothing better than smelling all the scents coming through the window. I’m also curious about strangers and never say no to a few gentle head scratches. I like being close to my family, but I can also stay home alone without experiencing separation anxiety. I’m house-trained.
I would prefer to be the only animal in the home so I can have all the attention to myself. I’m looking for humans who will be patient and willing to work on my reactions toward other dogs. With treats, I’m very motivated and ready to learn—if you give me some, I’ll love you for life! Oh, and one important detail: I have a real passion for balls that squeak!
Please note: I have hip dysplasia and currently receive a monthly Librela injection to help keep me comfortable. This treatment helps me enjoy life to the fullest.
If you’re looking for a sweet, endearing companion full of personality, I might just be your perfect match!
Cats
I’m looking for a home without cats because I have a strong prey drive.
Dogs
I haven’t been tested with dogs, but I react strongly when I encounter them outside.
Other pets
It would be best if I didn’t live in a home with small animals.
Kids
I haven’t been tested with young children, so it would be safer to avoid that situation.
